Introduction
Hi, I’m Shaleyah Floyd (she/her) — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) with over 25 years of experience as both a therapist and clinical supervisor.
I’m passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic space where you can explore ways to manage stress, cope with life’s challenges, and make empowered, healthier choices. My approach centers on building greater self-awareness, strengthening communication skills, and nurturing self-love and self-acceptance.
Together, we’ll identify strategies that align with your values and help move you toward the life you want to live. I’m here to support your growth—whether you're navigating a transition, working through emotional pain, or simply seeking more balance and peace in your life.
What Clients Say About Working With Me
Clients often describe me as encouraging, compassionate, honest, and perceptive. They appreciate my warm and open presence, and feel comfortable bringing their full selves into our work. I’m known for being direct but caring, and I meet challenges with understanding and curiosity—not judgment.
Supervision & Mentorship
I also have a deep passion for mentoring fellow clinicians. As a clinical supervisor for social workers and licensed professional counselors, I value the opportunity to both share from my experience and grow alongside others in the field. If you're looking for supportive, grounded supervision that honors your voice and vision as a therapist, I’d love to connect.
About Me and My Professional Skills
As a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a Master’s degree in Social Work, I have been blessed to journey alongside and to learn from a very diverse group of folks while utilizing multiple treatment modalities. I enjoy time outdoors, time with family and friends and I’m always looking for an opportunity to laugh, learn and encourage others.
